Peter loved the sea - either sailing on it, walking by it, or sitting at Godrevy looking out across the waves - he often said this was his happy place, and although he's travelled the world - he thought it the most beautiful place he had ever seen. Moving to Cornwall from Nottingham in the Midlands was a transformative one - not just for all the new adventures and challenges he would have as the new Principal of the world renowned Camborne School of Mines; but for the health and happiness that being by or on the sea would give. A long term supporter of the RNLI, it is only fitting that we ask that those who knew and loved him should help support this vital life-saving charity.
Twice weekly sailing racing in Carrick Roads was not his only passion though - classic cars and motorbikes kept him sane - whether rebuilding or driving, it didn't matter. Mapping colorado's mining history and riding steam trains was also a big thing. Swimming, walking and cycling kept him fit and he was a table tennis king!
